What is a scholarship video?

A scholarship video is a video designed to promote your athletic ability to the coaching staff of the college or university you hope to attend with a scholarship.  For example, you are a basketball player and you would like to get a scholarship to play in college.  This video gives a coach, who may not know you or your school, the opportunity to see

What does the video look like?

Scholarship videos are usually made with home video you shoot. Bring the raw video to MVP and we will edit it with you. We can add title graphics, music and video effects. You can design your video however you would like.  We suggest you consider having three main sections: a personal introduction, a skills demonstration and actual game video.

What should I show?

Introduce yourself. Dress in your uniform, go somewhere that is quiet and well lit. Take a half minute or so, and tell a little about you, your abilities and your character.

Show your skills. Let them see your abilities, but don’t forget the basics. For example, if your sport is basketball, show your shooting skills. Also demonstrate your dribbling, free throw shooting, running the floor, playing defense one on one and any skill at which you excel.

Perform. Use actual game video to let them see you in action. Again, show your offense, but also include team defense, assists, steals and rebounding.

How does MVP edit the video?

We will give you an Video Editing Log to list the shots you want to use. This log can make editing easier and faster.

We will schedule an editing session with one of our editing professionals to sit down with you and arrange your shots in a logical and effective order. We will include personal information like height, weight, position and achievements.

In general, your finished video should be ten minutes or less.

How can MVP make my scholarship video unique?

First, we can add text graphics with your number, season statistics or any other information.

Next, we can add music to the skills or game video. We can also use video effects to enhance different areas of your video.

How much does a video cost?

Your video can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. A college scholarship may depend on your presentation, but spend within your means. A basic scholarship video can be edited for about $250.

How do I get video copies?

After the master DVD is produced, we can make additional DVD's including a custom printed disc face.

I want a video that is more professional than home video. Can you help?

Yes. We are a full-service video production company. We will go with you to your practice area and shoot the video for you with our equipment. We will shoot your introduction and skills section to give your video a professional look.Basketball or any sport

Do you have any other suggestions for my video?

Remember, other student-athletes are also sending videos. Be creative and make your video stand out. Consider a custom DVD case with your photo on the front or other eye catching ideas. First impressions are important and they could make a difference.
