Photo Slideshows on DVD

There should be a movie about the people you love. You probably have photos of your most recent birthday party, as well as pictures that are decades old.  Think about how much joy those photos can give to the people around you.

Since 1986, MVP has been producing movies about families: creating slideshows for weddings, birthdays, or just to say, “I Love You.”  We can edit your pictures and scenes into a video montage that will make your family and friends laugh or cry.

Trust the MVP staff of talented editors with your photo slideshow.

We will set your photos to the soundtrack of your life, add titles and effects, and bring your pictures to life by adding motion to your still pictures. We can even edit in clips from your home movies to make your video slideshow complete.

"Your professionalism and attention to detail are evident throughout the video.  Having spent many hours going over the included photographs and knowing their original condition, I appreciate your ability to make them all appear high quality."

Getting Started

1. Choose the photo package that best fits your needs.  Print the Photo Slideshow Planning Form to help to plan your video.

2. There are two methods for choosing your photos and music:

a) Song by Song: Select your first song and determine how long the song lasts. Choose the photos for this song by following this guideline: 12 photos per minute (or 5 seconds per photo.)  For example, a song of 4:00 would use about 48 photos. These numbers are just a guide. For example, use more images per minute to make the video have a quicker pace or fewer for a slower, more dramatic video. We will edit the length of the photos to fit the music. Repeat for each song.

b) All Songs to All Photos: A easier method is to simply count all your photos and divide by 12. For example, 200 photos divided by 12 equals about 17 minutes of music. Just choose your songs that total somewhere from 16 to 18 minutes, and we will do the rest.

3. Use an ink pen (never a marker or Post-it notes) to number each photo on the back in the lower corner (never in the center). If using Song by Song method , do not start over with #1 at any point. Song #1 could be photos 1 - 48, so Song #2 would be 49 - 91, and so on.  Be sure to allow the ink to dry before stacking your photos.

4. Decide the titles you would like to add to your video. Titles can be on a background or over one of your images as a caption.

5. Decide how many duplications of your slideshow you would like to have to share with family and friends.

Planning Tips

  • Use a ballpoint pen to number the photos. Be sure to allow the ink to dry before stacking photos. DO NOT use any kind of marker (Sharpie, etc.).
  • If you prefer to use only parts of songs, you need to provide us with the exact CD time you want the song to be faded out. For example, you may only want to use a song from the beginning (0:00) to 2:10. There is an additional charge for audio editing.
  • Digital camera images can also be used (in place of photos). Each file must be named with the number it corresponds to in your order (always 3 digits). For example, you may have paper photos at 076, 077, then want a digital camera image (named 078.jpg), followed by a photo at 079. Burn the digital images to a CD or put them on a flash drive, and bring it with your photos. If you are looking for a simpler, less expensive option for your digital camera images, click here.
  • Remove all photos from albums and frames.
  • Avoid using paper clips because they can scratch the surface of your photos. Use an envelope to keep your photos together.
  • Non-rectangular photos (photos cut into shapes or irregular sizes) may need graphic editing at an additional charge.
  • If you plan to mail your order to us, enclose all the photos and slides in a zippered plastic bag to protect from moisture. Then send the photos, music and the Photo Slideshow Planning Form to us in a well-padded envelope or box.
