We "clean" your audio to reduce and remove the hiss and hum (which is common to most consumer audio tapes) to improve the quality of your final audio. This cleaning process is done at no extra cost.
We will create a file for each side of your cassette tape. For music, you can also choose to have us create an individual file for each song (additional cost). There has to be silence between songs for this option.
Your final files can be WAV or MP3. WAV files are standard as they are higher quality and better for editing. MP3 files and Audio CDs are also available.
Lastly, at no extra charge, we will custom name your files based on the reel labels or whatever title you like. For CDs, we will print your title on the face of the disc.

Dictation and Messaging
These little tapes were often used in personal recorders and home answering machines. Similar to their bigger brother standard cassette, these microcassettes can be recorded on both sides, have two recording speeds, and can hold over an hour of content.
Compact Disc Digital Audio
Released in 1982, Audio CDs changed the way people listened to music and later recorded home audio. Audio CDs typically can hold up to 80 minutes of audio. CDs can also hold data such as document, images, and video files.
Digital Audio Tape
Digital audio tape was mostly used in professional environments. As the name says, DAT tapes recorded a digital signal as compared to an analog signal. The sound quality is superior to standard analog cassettes. Tapes typically held 60 to 120 minutes of audio.
Digital Audio Recorded Disc
This digital disc format was designed to replace the audio cassette. Though it never achieved a huge following in the U.S., there are may people who loved the quality and recording capabilities of the MiniDisc. Typical discs can hold up to 60, 74 or 80 minutes of audio.
Classic 70's format
This classic audio tape was used in the 1960s to early 1980s. Its popularity never reached that of the audio cassette and quickly faded away. 8-track tapes feature four tracks of stereo sound and would continuously loop. Typically, they hold less than an hour of content.
Same cassette, different recording
These cassettes were used in special recorders which allowed four separate channels of audio to be recorded on one tape simultaneously. Commonly used by government agencies and law enforcement, these tapes were most often used for hearings, depositions, and interviews.
Personal Assistant
These small voice recorders did not use tape and early versions did not use cards. They often recorded the audio on internal storage. Sometimes special software is required to transfer the saved files. These recorders can potentially hold hundreds of hours.
Audio from DVD
So you have a DVD but just want the audio from it? No problem. We can create an audio from directly from your DVD. Choose from MP3, WAV, or other audio format. We can also do the same with video tapes.

Often we can. We will apply filters to the digital audio to remove hiss, hum, and some other common noises in audio cassette recordings. We do this at no additional charge for all your tapes regardless of whether you want audio files or CDs.
WAV files are the default option. They are higher quality than MP3 files. Also, WAV files are the better choice for archving and editing. WAV files are roughly 5x larger in file size than MP3 files. MP3 files are smaller in file size and sound nearly the same quality as WAV files to the average person.
There are two options. You can choose Cloud Storage or USB thumb drive. For Cloud Storage, we will upload your audio files to a secure location and email you a link so you can share and download them. Cloud Storage is the recommended choice, but you can also get a USB drive with all your audio files. Yes, we give your tapes back to you. We also offer the option to hold your media for 30 days. Many people who ship orders to us like this option to reduce return shipping costs. This allows them to review their conversions and then after 30 days, we will dispose/recycle the media.
Yes. We can take the audio track from your disc or tape then transfer it to a digital audio file. We will clean the audio just like we would an audio cassette.
Yes. For orders over 100 standard audio cassettes, we offer a quantity discount. The rate will be custom quoted based on the number of tapes you have, the approximate length of the tapes, and the desired completion date. Contact us to let us know more details about your audio tapes.
Yes. If your cassette tape is broken, we can repair it. A snapped tape or cracked shell should not keep you from preserving your memories.

I went in and talked to (them) regarding converting cassette tapes of my late husband's Jazz Combo into CD's to give to family and friends as a remembrance.
