Video Tape Repair

Video MVP had excellent reviews and was local. I took in six tapes in three different tape formats. Video MVP was able to digitally convert the videos and place them on a secure cloud location. They even repaired two that were broken. I will definitely be taking more for conversion.

Video tapes can deteriorate or become damaged over time, especially after years of storage or repeated playback. Formats such as VHS, VHS-C, 8mm video, Hi8, MiniDV, and even Betamax are all susceptible to issues like broken or snapped tape, crinkled or sections, and worn or misaligned cassette components. When this happens, the tape may not play correctly, or worse, it could be damaged further if played without proper attention.

In many cases, damaged video tapes can be carefully repaired so the footage can be safely recovered. Because many of these formats are now obsolete, repairing video tapes requires careful handling and experience with older playback systems. Once the tape is stabilized and able to play properly, the video can then be transferred to a digital format, preserving important home movies, events, and recordings before further deterioration occurs.

If you have a VHS, Hi8, VHS-C, MiniDV, or other video tape that is broken, tangled, or no longer plays correctly, repair may make it possible to recover and preserve your footage through digital transfer.
